I know where I'm gonna be on my birthday

Urgent Message for UP Mass Comm Alumni:May INC ka pa!

If you are a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC), please note that you still have an INC. You have to go to the CMC Plaridel Hall, Ylanan St. in UP Diliman, Quezon City on January 14 (Saturday), 3 p.m. for completion.

Remember Aling Suming, the recently retired, longest-staying administrative staff who has been with the college since its early years? She is now asking you to help CMC your home for four (or more) years as it moves forward to its 40th year of producing the best and the brightest media practitioners. For her, your return to CMC on January 14 is the way for you to complete the colleges deficiency.

Dubbed Tawag ka ni Aling Suming, UP CMC will have a get-together on that day to elect the new officers of the UP CMC Alumni Association (UP CMCAA) and to launch the two-year fund-raising campaign for the college.

Established as an institute on June 19, 1965 and elevated to college status on April 28, 1988, the college has produced 5,546 BA degree holders, 329 MA degree holders and 49 PhD degree holders.Through the help of its alumni, the CMC hopes to build and equip the new CMC Media Center, provide grants for its faculty members and ensure the continuation of CMCs research and extension programs and projects, particularly the biannual refereed Plaridel (A Journal of Philippine Communication, Media, and Society) and the annual UP Gawad Plaridel for outstanding media practitioners.

Since DZUP will have a live coverage of the January 14 affair, attending CMC alumni will be interviewed on the air. CMC graduates who are in the field of journalism and entertainment are also expected to provide special numbers.

Those who will attend will partake of the UP students favorite snacks like fish balls, squid balls, kwek-kwek, bananaque and sagot gulaman. The entrance fee for the January 14 get-together is P500 which entitles the holder to merienda and a raffle ticket.

For inquiries, please call Gina or Ilene at (632) 920-6864.
