Bushido Presents: The Yearend Special

This is gonna be my last post for this year. I'm headed for my province up north for the Christmas break and in our barrio, we do not have Internet connection. We don't even have telephone lines there. So there. But I'll be posting some bits and pieces every now and then using my SMART - the country's most loved wireless service provider (plugging!).

So as I end my blog's second season, (first season was when my blog was still bright bright green), let me share with you some random thoughts from my usually random mind.

I already (My boss says there's something wrong with my alreadys. Gramatically incorrect daw. Pero ok lang. I speak substandard English) found the perfect Christmas gift for myself. I bought a box set of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. This shall be a constant reminder that my life is really not that miserable. There are people who are actually far more unfortunate than me. And those people are all fictional. Ha!

I really have the most generous friends in the world. They (Prend, Presh, Shus, Dad, Gerardo, Duncan) bought me a DVD player. I wonder what will I get from them next year. A house perhaps? Hip-hop friend gave me a CD of one of my greatest musical influences - Jay R. Haha. The CD label comes with all the tracks' lyrics. Do you want it, Yes I want it, So I'm gonna, get ready! Get ready I am your design for love... (Call my SMART and you'll hear this song.) Gerardo gave me Eagles. Mikey gave me my most wanted CDs. Sheryn Regis and Jasmine Trias gave me a big big Spanish Spongebob fleece blanket that says "Bob Esponja", a joke book (like I need it), and a CD of my favorite piano-playing singer. Darth Vader gave me his best ube deli. J-Lo gave me a photo frame with a wobbling head. Surfer Dude gave me aromatherapeutic incense starter set. Crispin and Basilio gave me a candle holder, Kap gave me a bottle opener, Brad gave me chimes, Duff gave me white wine, etc. (I'm not materialistic. Haha) I'm really really thankful for all these gifts from my friends. I can't really mention them all here one by one but believe me, they are all equally special to me. Really. Oh, but my special mention goes to Kuya Robert for giving me this very mysterious CD. We tried opening the CD and we found lots of BANGs in the filenames. Must be a target shooting instructional video.

About the Desperado performance, I messed it up. Stage fright.

I realized that there are really a million things that I should be thankful for, like my non-cherifer-wanting height, my odd-numbered shoe-size, my straight hair, my Mike Enriquez impersonation skills, etcetera. What am I saying?

I can't wait for my homecoming. I know my folks back home can't either. Haha.

There is a show on MTV called the World Chart Express or something like that. How come I'm not aware of that?

We have a high school reunion on the 30th. I won't be there.

The American Idol Message Board moderators flagged me for not obeying rules. That means i can post but no one, no one, no one, can see what I'm saying. And I didn't know I was flagged until somebody said, "post number 65 is a blue line" (meaning, it's blank). What? It's like being dead and you don't know you are dead. It's like communicating with the livi8ng but they cannot hear nor see you. I already sent an email to the forum gods, pleading to get my username back. What rule did I break, you ask? It's the English Only policy. My forum friends kept on talking about filipino food like "pea knock bit, ah doe bow, ha! low ha! low, etc." We were all flagged for "using foreign language."

Extra Challenge is still my favorite TV show. It's the last remaining hope of Philippine TV. Even if Mariel says nothing but, "Good Luck Challengers!" I think that's just a wax model of Mariel with some gadget inside that plays "Good Luck Challengers!" every now and then.

Merry Christmas everybody! Happy New Year too! See you next season!

This is elvinelvinelvin, now signing off.

Hi,

I am doing research for e-books on original gift ideas. That is how I ran into your blog Bushido Presents: The Yearend Special. Do you have any brilliant suggestion for a Christmas gift for a girlfriend by any chance? I already have several books done and posted at http://www.100mostoriginalgiftideas.com but I am looking to upgrade some of the ideas for Christmas gifts. Thanks.

Hi elvin,

I am a writer and I research gift ideas for e-books on original gift ideas for Christmas and other events like Valentine's, Easter etc. I also organize gift ideas per receiver, like for babies, for kids, for teens, for grandparents, for dog lovers, for him, for her, etc Or I organize them by category like romantic gifts and inexpensive gifts. In my research I also go through blogs that mention gifts and gift ideas or events like Christmas. That is how I came upon your blog this post. I would appreciate if you would share just one successful gift idea with me, for instance a Christmas gift for a wife. I hope that my question doesn't annoy you. And I apologize if it does. I thought if I'd just ask enough people I'd wind up with plenty of good ideas to share with others again. That is what networking is all about, right? Or let's call it the spirit of Christmas. Let me know if I can do something for you. You can find my free e-books with gift ideas here: http://www.100mostoriginalgiftideas.com. God bless.
